Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Food Safety and Drug Control departments conducted simultaneous inspections at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Punjagutta, on Thursday following allegations of corruption and irregularities.
A team of around 10 ACB officials, led by Central Investigation DSP Lakshmi Kanth Reddy, inspected records at the hospital’s administrative section as part of the probe.
Meanwhile, four food safety inspectors inspected the NIMS canteen, while another team of four drug inspectors checked the surgical stores. The drug inspectors examined medicines, medical equipment and records pertaining to their storage.
The food safety officials focused on the canteen, while the ACB team scrutinised administrative records in connection with the allegations of irregularities.
A detailed statement from the ACB on the inspections is expected to be released on Friday.
