Official temple photographer (Asthana Photographer) Uppala Prasad of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Devasthanam in Ahobilam, Nandyal district, received the “Best Image of the Year Award” at the national photography competition.
The event was organised by the Photography Academy of India (PAI), in collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh State Creativity and Culture Commission, on the theme “My India: 80 Years of Democracy and Freedom” to mark Independence Day (August 15). The award presentation ceremony took place at Acharya Nagarjuna University in Guntur recently.
The event was attended by Vice-Chancellor in-charge of ANU Prof. K. Gangadhara Rao, former MLC Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad, and Principal, University College of Arts, Commerce & Law, and Director of Gandhian Studies Prof. M. Suresh Kumar.
Mr. Prasad received the award from Rector (in-charge), ANU, Shiva Rama Prasad and Registrar (i/c), ANU, Prof. G. Simhachalam.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Uppala Prasad expressed his gratitude to Thamma Srinivas Reddy, chairman of the Photography Academy of India, and the jury members.
