Yashoda Hospitals, Hyderabad, conducted an awareness session in Nizamabad district to highlight the specialised treatment options available at their facilities for kidney, urinary tract, prostate and other urological conditions, including kidney transplantation.

Senior Consultant, Renal Transplant Surgeon Dr. G. Madhusudhan Reddy explained the importance of early diagnosis and timely treatment in managing urological disorders and improving patient outcomes. The session highlighted treatment options for kidney stones, prostate enlargement and urinary tract disorders, including laser procedures and minimally invasive surgeries for eligible patients.

He urged people not to ignore symptoms such as severe pain, blood in the urine, difficulty passing urine, frequent urination or a weak urinary stream, and stressed the importance of consulting specialists at an early stage.

He also discussed advances in the diagnosis and treatment of urological cancers, including kidney, bladder and prostate cancers. Laparoscopic and robotic surgical techniques have expanded treatment options for selected patients, with the choice of procedure depending on their overall health and the stage of the disease.
