The BJP’s Tamil Nadu unit on Tuesday (September 22, 2026) constituted a three-member State-level committee, in the wake of political developments and “unexpected events” in the BJP State unit. The committee will submit its report to the State and Central units.
“In light of the recent political developments and unexpected events in BJP Tamil Nadu, a three-member committee is hereby constituted with immediate effect, comprising the following members, to enquire and submit report,” BJP State unit president Nainar Nagenthran announced.
Former legislator and party’s national executive member H. Raja will be the convenor of the committee. State joint treasurer M. Sivasubramaniyan and national council member R. Umarathi were named as members of the committee.
Complaints made against some of its functionaries are believed to have prompted the BJP’s State unit to constitute the committee.
