The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested proclaimed offender Satyendra Kumar on Friday (October 23, 2026) in connection with a fodder scam case.
According to the press statement issued by the CBI, after the filing of the charge sheet in the case in 2001, the accused Satyendra Kumar absconded, and the CBI was on the lookout for him for over 25 years. As he failed to appear before the court to face trial, a permanent warrant of arrest was issued against him by the Court.
“Based on sustained physical and technical surveillance, coupled with human intelligence, the accused person’s location was traced to Nepal. Recently, the accused entered India and was travelling from Guna (M.P.) to Lucknow (U.P.) by train on 22.10.2026. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a dedicated CBI team was formed for arresting the accused on his way from Guna to Lucknow,” CBI stated.
The federal investigative agency further said, “The team was deployed at Lucknow Railway Station before the arrival of the train carrying the accused. At around midnight, the accused was apprehended by the CBI team and subsequently arrested.”
The accused is being brought to Ranchi on transit remand for production before the competent court for trial.
