Travelling with his family to Tirupati to seek divine blessings in his new e-car, 34-year-old Raju Vegesna was gripped by panic rather than peace. Sweating profusely, the family was terrified to turn on the air conditioning, fearing the vehicle’s battery would run dry before they reached their destination.
This fear was exactly why Raju had been reluctant to take the road trip in the first place, only relenting after continuous insistence from his family. He recalls agreeing to the journey only after a quick google search reassured him that there were nearly a dozen EV charging stations en route.
