The Andhra Pradesh government is taking steps to resolve all feasible and legitimate demands of Swarna Gram and Swarna Ward employees, Social Welfare and Swarna Gram, Swarna Ward Minister Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy said on Monday
Addressing the media at the Secretariat, the Minister said that 14,331 employees in 18 cadres had already been promoted, while the Municipal Administration Department had initiated steps to promote another 800 employees.
He said the government had decided to implement the Automatic Advancement Scheme for eligible employees, despite an additional financial burden of ₹150 crore. The scheme would benefit 1.14 lakh employees who completed six years of service in the same post, with orders issued through GO No. 7 on September 21.
A special leave portal has also been launched, enabling automatic approval of casual leave if the competent authority fails to act on an application within 24 hours, IT and Swarna Gram, Swarna Ward Secretary Katamneni Bhaskar said.
The government has also constituted district-level committees to address workload-related issues and monthly grievance cells. Employees are entitled to earned leave, other eligible leave benefits, increments and death benefits on par with other government employees.
The Minister criticised the employees’ recent protest in Vijayawada and appealed to them to cooperate with the government’s efforts. He said proposals regarding notional increments for the stipend period had been sent to the Finance Department.
