Liam Neeson bought 37-acre New York estate; former Manhattan home sold for $10.3m
Liam Neeson’s real-estate portfolio includes more than a Manhattan apartment once shared with his late wife, Natasha Richardson. The actor bought a 37-acre estate in Millbrook, upstate New York, in 1994, adding a substantial rural property to his long-standing ties to the region. According to the New York Post, his holdings returned to the spotlight in August 2025, when his former Lincoln Square residence sold for $10.3 million after being listed for $12.75 million. The sale drew attention to the home where Neeson and Richardson raised their two sons, while his decades-old Millbrook property remains a quieter part of his real-estate story. Liam Neeson’s 37-acre Millbrook estate dates back to 1994 Neeson acquired the 37-acre Millbrook property in 1994, making it one of the longer-held assets in his real-estate portfolio. The purchase came during a period when his acting career was gaining wider international recognition, following performances in films such as Schindler’s List. He would go on to establish himself across dramas, romantic comedies and action thrillers, but the Millbrook property has remained a less-publicised part of his life outside the screen. The estate is distinct from his Manhattan residence in both setting and scale. Millbrook, in Dutchess County, lies north of New York City and is associated with open land, country homes and a quieter pace of life. A property extending across 37 acres offers a very different relationship with its surroundings from an apartment in a high-rise building, where neighbouring homes are separated by walls and windows rather than fields and trees. Liam Neeson sold his Manhattan home for $10.3 million in 2025 The New York Post reported, Neeson’s former Lincoln Square residence became the more visible part of his property story when it sold for $10.3 million in August 2025. The apartment, at Park Millennium on West 67th Street, had been assembled from three separate units that Neeson and his late wife, actress Natasha Richardson, acquired for approximately $3.99 million around 25 years earlier. The 4,524-square-foot home occupied the building’s 28th floor and contained five bedrooms and five bathrooms. Large windows framed views of Central Park, while the interior included a substantial kitchen, a family room, a dining area and a main bedroom suite with two bathrooms. There was also space for a home office or library and a gym. The residence was initially listed for $12.75 million in 2024 before its eventual sale. The transaction brought an end to a significant chapter in Neeson’s New York family life. He and Richardson raised their two sons, Micheál and Daniel, in the city. Richardson died in 2009 after a skiing accident in Quebec, leaving the Manhattan home closely associated with the family years they spent together. New York remains part of his wider property holdings The sale of the Lincoln Square apartment did not necessarily signal a departure from New York State. The Millbrook estate provides a separate connection to the region, outside the density of Manhattan and its apartment buildings. Its acreage also sets it apart from the city residence, where the principal attraction was the combination of generous interior space and views over one of New York’s best-known green spaces. The details of the Millbrook property, including its interior features, present-day use and current market value, have not been established in the information available here. It would therefore be premature to describe it as a working farm, a historic mansion or a particular style of country retreat without further documentation. What is known is the length of Neeson’s ownership and the size of the estate. Property interests extend beyond the United States Neeson’s real estate is not confined to New York. He also has property interests in Dublin and Northern Ireland, his birthplace. These holdings reflect his continuing connections to Ireland alongside the professional life he has built in the United States. For an actor whose career has involved decades of international filming, the distinction between a primary residence and a long-held property can be difficult to establish from public records alone. The Millbrook estate remains a particularly interesting part of that picture because of its history. Purchased in 1994, it predates the sale of his family apartment by more than three decades and occupies a very different place in the landscape. While the Manhattan home was defined by its proximity to Central Park and the city beyond its windows, the 37-acre property offers a glimpse of Neeson’s longer association with the quieter side of New York State.
