The month-long “Sri Damodara Deepotsavam” began on Monday evening at Sri Sri Radha Madana Mohana Mandir, Hare Krishna Vaikuntham, on IIM Road at Gambheeram in Visakhapatnam.
The celebrations, organised by the Hare Krishna Movement, Visakhapatnam, will continue till November 24, with programmes from 7 p.m. every day.
The first day featured Harati, Sankirtan and a discourse on the significance of Damodara Masa (Kartika month) by Nishkinchana Bhakta Dasa, president of the movement. Devotees offered ghee lamps while singing the “Damodarashtakam”.
