A unique installation unveiled at c0c0n 2026, the 19th edition of the cybersecurity and hacking conference in Kochi, has turned out to be a ‘tall’ symbol of cyber awareness.
Titled The Trojan Project™, India’s first Cyber Trojan Horse, the 25-feet tall statue of a horse, weighing approximately two tonnes, has been created by artist DaVinci Suresh using around 850 pieces of discarded electronic scrap, including motherboards, processors, memory modules, circuit boards, cables and other electronic components.
“The Trojan Project draws inspiration from the legendary Trojan Horse, a symbol of danger concealed behind an apparently harmless or attractive exterior. By bringing this concept to life through a monumental installation, the project seeks to make the risks of the digital world more tangible and understandable to the public,” according to the organisers of the event.
Beyond cybersecurity awareness, the installation also highlights the importance of responsible electronic waste management and recycling, demonstrating how electronic waste can be repurposed to create a meaningful public awareness initiative.
Mr. Suresh said that it took one month and half to complete the project. “There are plans to shift it to Nehru Park in Fort Kochi as a permanent installation. If the plan succeeds, necessary changes will be made in its structure,” he said.
The installation has also been launched in partnership with Childlight – Global Child Safety Institute, a data institute hosted by the University of Edinburgh. The collaboration aims to use the monument’s visibility and symbolic significance to raise awareness of online child sexual exploitation and abuse and extend the message to audiences worldwide.
C0c0n 2026, organised by the Kerala Police in association with the Information Security Research Association, concludes on Saturday (October 10, 2026).
