Personalities from the Kannada film industry, including actors, producers and directors, added a touch of glamour to the grand Dasara procession in Mysuru on Wednesday, drawing cheers from thousands of spectators lining the route.
In what was a rare sight in recent years, a galaxy of Kannada film stars participated in the procession following a suggestion by Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who authorised the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce to bring the stars on board to enhance the grandeur of the event.
The film personalities travelled in two open-top buses, waving to the cheering crowds as popular songs from yesteryear Kannada films and contemporary cinema played along the procession route. The contingent brought together veteran actors, established stars and emerging talent from the industry.
Led by veteran actor Jayamala, chairperson of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, the buses, decorated with images of prominent personalities from the Kannada film world, moved along the procession route, adding a cinematic touch to the cultural spectacle.
V. Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, Golden Star Ganesh, Murali, Prajwal Devaraj, Sharan, Neenasam Satheesh, Ragini, Pooja Gandhi, Prem, Srinagar Kitty, Mukhyamantri Chandru, Doddanna and several others greeted the crowds from the buses.
Popular actor Kiccha Sudeep watched the procession from the gallery in front of the Mysuru palace, where the Chief Minister and other dignitaries, including Ministers, witnessed the grand finale.
