The direct recruitment examination for the posts of land surveyors and village administrative officers (VAO) in the Revenue Department passed off smoothly across 25 designated examination centres in Yadgir district on Sunday.
The written examination was conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).
Providing details on candidate turnout, Deputy Commissioner Rahul Pandve stated that out of the 9,607 registered candidates for the morning session, 6,918 appeared, while 2,689 skipped the test.
In the afternoon session, 6,572 candidates out of the 9,152 registered applicants turned up for the exam, while 2,580 candidates remained absent.
The district administration ensured stringent security measures, strict protocols and full compliance with KEA guidelines to prevent any untoward incidents and to maintain the integrity of the examination process.
Adequate police security was deployed across all 25 centres.
Basic facilities, including drinking water, uninterrupted power supply and emergency medical support, were arranged for the benefit of the candidates.
Acknowledging the inter-departmental synergy, Mr. Pandve commended the coordinated efforts of the Police Department, the Department of Public Instruction, the Health Department, GESCOM and the KSRTC.
On behalf of the district administration, he expressed his appreciation for all officers, deputy chief superintendents, observers and staff for ensuring a transparent and seamless conduct of the examination.
