Officials of the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam on Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada have sold about 4.5 lakh laddu prasadams in just two days.
Laddu is one of the prasadams in good demand during the Dasara Navaratri Utsavams. The temple authorities are also selling ‘pulihora’, ‘chakkara pongali’ and other prasadams to devotees.
“Laddu prasadam is prepared with ghee and dry fruits, and is having good taste. We purchased about 15 laddus for distributing the same to our family members and neighbours,” a devotee, Shiva Narayana of Chintalapudi, said.
Temple officials said about 2.5 lakh laddus were sold on Friday (October 16, 2026), Moola Nakshatram day, the birth star of Goddess Saraswati Devi.
“On Saturday (October 17, 2026), nearly 2 lakh laddu prasadams have been sold on the seventh day of the Navarathri Utsavams,” a temple official told The Hindu.
A heavy rush was seen at the laddu ATM, which was launched recently. The Endowments Department has also arranged prasadam-selling counters at different locations in and around Indrakeeladri.
“We are getting laddu prasadam in just a few seconds after paying the amount online in the ATM. Each devotee can take two laddus,” a devotee, Srivalli of Kondapalli, said.
A heavy rush was seen at the prasadam counters. Devotees were asking for ‘chakkara pongali’, ‘pulihora’ and ‘laddu prasadam’, the temple staff said.
