NEW DELHI: A woman was allegedly shot dead in Manipur’s Kamjong district, triggering fresh violence and prompting authorities to impose prohibitory orders, officials told news agency PTI on Saturday.The incident took place around 9.35pm on Friday in Chassad village, a Kuki-majority settlement in the Naga-dominated district, they said.The woman, a mother of five, sustained gunshot wounds near her neck and died within minutes, officials added.The killing led to an exchange of fire between Kuki and Naga armed groups, with the firing continuing on Saturday morning, they said.
