Assistant Executive Engineer Parvez Dharwad, 34, of the Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited (KRIDL), who went missing after leaving for Bengaluru on September 13, has been traced to Mumbai by the Gadag police.

According to the police, Mr. Parvez was found near Bandra railway station on October 22, following an extensive search across Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. A police team brought him to Gadag for questioning. He was found to be in good health and was handed over to his relatives after the inquiry, the police said.

A missing-person case was registered at the Betageri Extension police station following a complaint by his father, Jaffersab Dharwad. Mr. Parvez had told his family that he was travelling to Bengaluru for an official meeting but did not return.

The disappearance had drawn attention after reports that a note allegedly left by Mr. Parvez referred to a shortage of government funds and delays in payments for completed works. The note reportedly cited pressure from contractors over pending dues. These allegations formed part of the concerns surrounding the case, though the circumstances of his disappearance remain to be established.

The Gadag police formed special investigation teams under the guidance of Deputy Superintendent of Police Murtuza Qadri. Investigators gathered technical information and pursued leads across several States before tracing him to Mumbai.

The Gadag Superintendent of Police appreciated the investigation team for its sustained efforts in locating the missing engineer. The police are expected to establish the circumstances that led to Mr. Parvez’s disappearance through further investigation.
