Channareddy Patil Tunnur, Yadgir MLA, stated that the growing attraction towards the Congress party’s ideology and the State government’s welfare programmes would help strengthen the party at the grassroots level.

He was welcoming the new inductees from BJP and JD(s) in Yadgir on Friday (October 2).

Highlighting the State’s development initiatives, Mr. Tunnur credited the former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah-led administration for fulfilling its election promises by implementing the five major guarantee schemes: Shakti, Gruha Lakshmi, Gruha Jyothi, Yuva Nidhi, and Anna Bhagya. He added that these social welfare measures continue to benefit all sections of society under Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s tenure.

Taking a dig at the Union government, the MLA alleged that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led administration had failed to safeguard public interest, citing rising unemployment and inflation. He also criticised the Centre’s delayed response in releasing drought relief funds to Karnataka, despite persistent appeals from the state leadership.

District Congress Committee president Basareddy Malipatil Anapur formally inducted the workers into the party by handing over party flags.

Prominent inductees included former gram panchayat members and local leaders from Ward No. 27 of Yadgiri city, Biranakal Tanda, Kanthi Tanda, and neighbouring villages.
