The Osmania unit of the Telangana Junior Doctors Association (T-JUDA) on Tuesday resumed its agitation over persistent infrastructure deficiencies, inadequate medical facilities and essential healthcare resources at Osmania Medical College and its affiliated hospitals.
The junior doctors had launched the first phase of their agitation on October 12 and 13 following concerns over patient care, clinical training, academic learning and working conditions. The government and higher authorities had assured them that efforts would be made to resolve the issues within 10 days.
However, stating that little improvement had been witnessed despite waiting for 14 days, Osmania T-JUDA resumed its protest, and demanded urgent intervention to address the long-pending concerns. The association maintained that the agitation was not intended to put patients to inconvenience or confront authorities, but to highlight deficiencies affecting healthcare delivery and resident doctors’ training.
