The Osmania Medical College Junior Doctors Association (OMC JUDA) has announced a protest at Osmania General Hospital (OGH) in Hyderabad on Monday (October 12, 2026) demanding urgent action on long-pending issues affecting postgraduate training, clinical learning, working conditions and patient care.

According to an official strike notice issued on October 10, the protest will begin at 8.30 a.m. at the main gate of OGH. The association has called on interns, undergraduate students, postgraduate residents, senior residents and representatives from all departments to participate in large numbers.

OMC JUDA said several critical issues continued to affect the functioning of hospital departments and the quality of postgraduate training despite repeated representations to the authorities. The association has urged all departments to suspend elective outpatient department (OPD) services and elective operation theatre (OT) procedures during the protest, while ensuring that emergency services and essential patient care remain uninterrupted.

The association said that the protest was not directed at any individual or department but aimed at protecting the dignity of residents, ensuring a proper learning environment, strengthening clinical training and securing the infrastructure required for safe and effective patient care.
