On World Sight Day, the Sankar Foundation eye hospital in Srikakulam organized a glaucoma awareness programme for the elderly. Dr. K. Ramchran highlighted common symptoms like blurred vision and headaches. The foundation has already conducted 13,738 tests and 2,674 surgeries for needy patients, and plans further free camps in nearby towns.

Sairama Devi and secretary Vara Lakshmi said timely recognition and appropriate response during medical emergencies could help save lives. They said the event would also highlight the role of critical care teams in providing specialised treatment and life support to critically ill patients. Doctors, nurses, healthcare professionals, students and members of the public have been invited to participate.
