Seeds Fincap Pvt Ltd, a non-baking financial company (NBFC) supporting small Indian businesses, has raised more than Rs 100 crore in its Series B funding round led by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation. Existing investors Z47 and Lok Capital also joined the round along with Norinchukin Capital and Alteria Capital. Unitus Capital served as the main financial adviser for the deal. The company said it plans to use the latest funding to open more physical branches, hire field workers, and upgrade its risk tracking tools as it expands further into rural and semi-urban towns. The new cash boost comes at a key moment for Seeds, as the team sets its sights on reaching Rs 1,000 crore in assets under management by March 2027. Started in 2021 by Subhash Chandra Acharya, Avishek Sarkar, and Sumeet Dhall, Seeds caters to nano enterprises. These are small businesses that may have limited access to formal credit from banks. Instead of asking for traditional assets as proof, the company says it assesses the cash flows and operating activity of businesses when evaluating borrowers. It offers loans ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 10 lakh to small businesses and traders. "We are delighted to welcome the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation as the lead investor in our Series B round," said Subhash Chandra Acharya, MD & CEO of Seeds Fincap. "Their participation is a strong endorsement of the impact we seek to create. The continued support from our existing investors reflects their sustained confidence in our business model and the strength of our portfolio. This capital will enable us to deepen our footprint, strengthen our technology capabilities, and reach more underserved entrepreneurs." The firm reported a profit in both FY25 and FY26. It disbursed around Rs 620 crore in loans during FY26, while its assets under management stood at Rs 722 crore as of August 2026. Its network had expanded to 164 branches across India, with more than 70,000 active borrowers. Rakesh Goyal, Head of Financial Services in India at the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, said small business owners often face challenges in accessing formal credit. He said Seeds combines local market knowledge with risk assessment practices to serve this segment. Anish Patil, Principal at Z47, which backed the company at an early stage, said the investment was based on the founders’ experience in small-business lending. He said the company had expanded its loan book over the past three years while maintaining its approach to credit and risk management.
