The special enrolment drive announced by the Election Commission of India (ECI) for voter roll revision will begin in Keralam on Thursday (October 15). The drive will be on till October 31, election officials said.

Chief Electoral Officer (Keralam) D. Sajith Babu said to add names to the rolls, voters need fill in only Form 6. No additional declaration forms are required.

Mr. Babu said that he and the Additional CEOs will travel across Keralam for carrying out random checks and to monitor the progress of the enrolment drive.

Digital help desks will function at village offices from October 15 to October 31 in connection with the drive. Once the applications are submitted online, booth-level officers (BLO) will carry out a physical verification. Applications can be submitted online through the Citizen Service Portal or the Voter Helpline App.

Along with the application, any one of the approved documents establishing the identity with photograph, age and address must be submitted. Those submitting Aadhaar as proof must provide an additional supporting document.

Earlier this month, the CEO had directed electoral registration officers (ERO) to verify the differences between the voter list as it existed on January 1, 2025, and the list that came into effect after the Assembly elections. ERO-level verification was also ordered with regard to applications listed as ‘uncollected’ during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and were not included on the list published after the election.

For raising voter awareness among the youth, a special enrolment drive named ‘Campus to Booth’ will be organised in colleges and schools.
