The Hindu’s promotional campaign has won seven laurels at the inaugural Love of Advertising (LoA) Awards held here recently. The campaign titled ‘Written by Journalists’, bagged six honours and its impactful experiential initiative named ‘Kerala for ALL’, created for Kerala Tourism, won another laurel at the LoA Awards.
The LoA Awards are organised by Advertising Club Trivandrum (ACT). The function at The Leela Raviz, Kovalam, brought the advertising and media fraternity together for an evening of creativity, celebration and camaraderie. Advertising professional Prathap Suthan was inducted into the LoA Hall of Fame on the occasion.
Maitri Advertising Works won the Agency of the Year award, while Goel TMT was named Brand of the Year. Unicorn Films took home the Production House of the Year title. The awards saw competition from agencies including Be Positive and Hari & Das Design.
The awards recognised three pieces of work: Kappa Cultr by Mathrubhumi, ‘Water’ film for Ramco Cements by Hari & Das Design, and ‘Band Baaja Bitiya’ film for Goel TMT by The Unicorn Films. Be Positive was a close contender for ‘Agency of the Year.’ Hari & Das Design, Mathrubhumi, McCann, Digitally Inspired Media, and Stark Communications picked up multiple trophies.
The evening began with sessions featuring Senthil Kumar, ad filmmaker Manoj Pillai, and Ajith Gopinath. Laj Salam, president of ACT, spoke about the club’s vision of creating a platform to share the ‘love of advertising’ by recognising creative excellence across all kinds of advertising.
LoA convener Thomas George briefed the gathering on the idea behind the Hearts of LoA, the distinctive awards trophy inspired by the four colours of print — Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black (CMYK).
The award show was powered by Kerala Tourism with partnerships from The Hindu, Malayala Manorama, The Leela Raviz, Asianet News, Artech Realtors, Wattsun Energy, Kerala Kaumudi, Orange Printers, KIMS Health, Nikunjam Constructions, Swayamvara Silks, Canara Bank and Kerala Bank.
