Parts of Keralam will continue to experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds influenced by the weather systems in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal.

According to a weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday (October 20, 2026), a well-marked low-pressure area persists over the southwest Arabian. Although the system is moving west-northwestwards away from the coast of Keralam, the associated circulation is expected to trigger isolated heavy showers in the State.

Further, two back-to-back low-pressure area systems are expected to form in the Bay of Bengal in the next three days, with the first one in 24 hours and the second one by October 23. Although these systems do not interact with the coast of Keralam directly, they will produce fairly widespread showers across the State for the next four days, as the development of the weather systems could influence the moisture and wind pattern over Keralam

A yellow alert has been issued for seven districts from Thiruvananthapuram to Ernakulam on Tuesday, where isolated heavy showers are expected during the next 24 hours.
