During a surprise visit to the Central Bus Stand in Belagavi, he inspected eateries and food stalls within the bus stand. He found some expired food products and ordered their seizure. He noted a lack of hygiene and safety standards. He directed that price lists for food items be displayed. He reprimanded food safety officials for failing to conduct regular inspection of these eateries. He observed that price lists were not displayed, and the failure to issue receipts for the use of these facilities. He asked shopowners to follow the rules.

Subsequently, he visited a pharmacy, and inspected various documents, including their licences. He observed that the establishment’s food safety certificate had expired. Instructions were issued to ensure that employees working at the shop are paid at least the minimum wage, as mandated by the Labour Department. Officials were directed to ensure that employees are not subjected to any harassment.

He expressed concern over the lack of cleanliness in the bus stand’s restrooms, and inefficient garbage collection in the bus stand premises. He visited the ‘Namma Clinic’ located in the bus stand, where he examined the medicines being dispensed and inquired about the treatment procedures.
