BJP State unit president Nainar Nagenthran on Tuesday (November 3, 2026) questioned Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Rajmohan about his recent claim that an individual had offered him a bribe of up to ₹5 crore for the post of chairman of the Tamil Nadu Eyal Isai Nataka Mandram.

Mr. Nagenthran asked why the State government had failed to identify or arrest the individual concerned under the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act. He questioned why the Minister had not lodged a complaint through the anti-corruption helpline introduced by the government.

He also sought an explanation on why Tamil Nadu Textbook and Educational Services Corporation chairman Layola Mani was allegedly approached by the individual seeking access to the Minister, raising questions about possible financial dealings.

Pointing out Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay had publicly urged people not to pay bribes, Mr. Nagenthran said the alleged incident raised concerns about corruption at the ministerial level. He challenged the Minister to identify the person who allegedly attempted to bribe him and explain why no action had been initiated.
