BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Sunday (November 1, 2026) accused the Congress of protecting infiltrators, claiming that three crore such people were living in the country.

He alleged that the Opposition was fighting to safeguard their own interests rather than those of Indian citizens.

Addressing a gathering during the BJP’s kilometre-long ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao (Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy)’ foot march in Rohtak, Mr. Nabin said the people of Haryana knew who the infiltrators were and asserted that the BJP and the NDA would ensure that they were driven out of the country. “As long as the BJP and the NDA workers are there, they will ensure that these infiltrators are driven out of the country. Under no circumstances will infiltrators be allowed to enjoy the rights meant for the country’s citizens,” he said.

The march saw participants carrying BJP flags and placards bearing slogans such as “Stop the politics of lies”, “A call by democracy for attack on infiltrators” and “Modi ji will not go anywhere”.

Targeting Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, Mr. Nabin alleged that the former was siding with infiltrators. “You do not have faith in the country’s 1.4 billion people. Whom do you trust, then? You trust three crore infiltrators. What exactly are your intentions?” he asked.

The BJP president said 13 crore votes were deleted, and even a mandal-level BJP worker could provide an account for the deleted votes.

The foot march, held on Haryana’s Foundation Day, November 1, coincided with the Congress-led Opposition’s “Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao” rally in Delhi. The BJP march was organised to counter the Opposition’s allegations against constitutional institutions and its campaign over electoral rolls.

Mr. Nabin accused the Congress of disrespecting the people’s mandate and targeting constitutional institutions because it had failed to secure an electoral mandate. He also questioned the party’s commitment to internal democracy, alleging that it was controlled by one family and that its leaders followed Mr. Gandhi’s wishes.

Referring to the 1984 anti-Sikh violence on November 1, Mr. Nabin, with an eye on the upcoming Assembly election in neighbouring Punjab, said the Congress should have apologised for the killings instead of staging protests. Invoking former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s remark that “when a big tree falls, the earth shakes”, he said the party should have expressed remorse over the deaths of Sikhs.

Invoking the Allahabad High Court judgment setting aside Indira Gandhi’s election, Mr. Nabin accused the Congress of having a legacy of misusing government machinery and electoral processes.

BJP’s Haryana In-charge and former Union Minister Smriti Irani and Haryana BJP president Archana Gupta were also present at the rally.
