TPCC working president T. Jagga Reddy has pledged support to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s campaign seeking the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, asserting that party workers would continue their struggle until Mr. Gandhi became Prime Minister.
Describing Congress workers as soldiers in Mr. Gandhi’s fight to protect people’s voting rights, Mr. Jagga Reddy said the entire party cadre would stand firmly behind him in the campaign against alleged vote theft by the BJP.
The country needed a return of the kind of governance associated with former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi to ensure the welfare and happiness of its people, he said.
Mr. Jagga Reddy was speaking in Sangareddy where he had made arrangements for large LED screens near the Ambedkar statue for the live telecast of the INDIA bloc’s ‘Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao’ rally held in New Delhi on Sunday.
Recalling the sacrifices made by the family of Mr. Rahul Gandhi for the country, he said their contribution to public life could not be forgotten. He expressed the hope that a government committed to the welfare of the poor, similar to the one under Indira Gandhi, would return to power.
