The Coonoor Consumer Protection has demanded that bills of sale be given to consumers purchasing Aavin products as well as to consumers patronising the farmers’ market in Udhagamamandalam.
The association made the demands during its monthly meeting held recently, where they said that consumers purchasing products at Aavin outlets were not being given bills of sale in the Nilgiris. They added that bills were also not being issued for produce being sold at the farmers’ market in Udhagamandalam.
They demanded that the Aavin management as well as the Horticulture Department ensure that bills of sale are given to consumers.
The association also said that the regional transport office must cancel licenses for mini bus operators found to be collecting excess fares and that an approved fare chart should be mandatorily displayed in all mini-bus buses for passengers to be able to check fares.
