With cyclone Murasu posing a potential threat to pilgrim movement in Tirumala, TTD Additional Executive Officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary on Monday directed officials to step up precautionary measures to ensure uninterrupted darshan, sheltered distribution of food and the safety of devotees throughout their pilgrimage.

Chairing a review meeting with officials of various departments at the Sudharma Meeting Hall in Tirumala, he stressed the need for coordinated efforts to prevent rain-related disruptions and ensure that devotees do not face inconvenience while waiting for darshan or accessing essential facilities.

Officials were directed to expedite darshan arrangements and ensure that queue lines did not extend beyond designated premises, exposing pilgrims to rain. He also instructed them to erect tarpaulin shelters wherever necessary to facilitate uninterrupted distribution of Annaprasadam.

The Engineering and Electrical Departments were asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply and maintain heightened vigilance along the ghat roads, particularly at stretches vulnerable to rock and boulder falls.

Medical personnel were instructed to remain on alert and provide immediate assistance to devotees who slip or sustain injuries due to rain.

Emphasising inter-departmental coordination, the Additional EO called upon all TTD wings to work in tandem to safeguard pilgrims, facilitate hassle-free darshan and ensure their safe return to their destinations.
