Uttaradi mutt seer Satyatma Teertha Swami was discharged from a private hospital in Hubballi on Sunday (September 27) evening after briefly undergoing treatment following a road accident on Saturday (September 26) night. Two others, including Shashidharacharya, were injured. All are out of danger.
In a video message for mutt devotees, he said that had not suffered any major injury. “The doctors have asked me to take rest for a few days. There is no need for panic or worry. I was saved by the blessings of my gurus and Almighty God,’’ he said. The mutt clarified on Sunday morning that he was out of danger.
The Sushruta Multispeciality Hospital released a statement saying he had undergone all relevant tests and the results were normal.
An SUV carrying the seer met with an accident on National Highway-48, near Thimmapur village in Shiggaon taluk of Haveri district. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, which veered off course and rammed a road divider. The front portion of the car was damaged. Tadas Police Station officials visited the spot, inspected the damaged vehicle, and gathered preliminary details from local residents and highway users. A case has been registered in connection with the accident. Further investigation is under way to determine the exact cause of the driver’s loss of control.
The seer, based in Bengaluru, was travelling from Dharwad to the Styabodh swami mutt at Savanur in Haveri district. He had just completed the Chaturmasa ritual in Dharwad.
