Bhavya Chawat and Kruthi Krishna, two students from R.V. College of Engineering in Bengaluru, are selected among the top 20 teams for the finale of Samsung India’s Young Innovators at Samsung Solve 2026.

Their project, Step Sense, helps detect medical conditions including diabetic foot ulcer and plantar fasciitis using walking pattern among people.

Kruthi said, “Early detection of this disease can prevent patient’s leg from being amputated. We have built this project using AI technology. The sensors installed in the sole of shoes can help us monitor parameters like fatigue monitoring, fall-risk assessment and changes in the walking pattern over time. If altered, patients can take necessary treatment at the right time.”
